Canturf Canberra Blend

Climate: Cool. Ideal for Canberra, Yass, Cooma, Goulburn, Southern Highlands, and surrounding areas.

Evergreen: Yes

Grass type: A blend of Tall Fine Fescue and Kentucky Bluegrass.

Ongoing care required: Moderate

it was specifically developed to withstand our harsh climate of extreme temperatures and frosts. It stays green all year round and does not 'brown off' over winter like some warmer climate grasses do — and because it is grown locally, you can be sure that it won't be affected by climate variations and transportation stress.

All Canturf is fully matured for at least 12 months, and is delivered to you fresh and ready to lay 'instantly'. It's suitable for almost any site — level or sloped — and can be successfully laid any time of year. It feels soft underfoot and yet withstands the rigorous demands of an active outdoor lifestyle.

Canturf Canberra Blend with clover

Climate: Cool. Ideal for Canberra, Yass, Cooma, Goulburn, Southern Highlands, and surrounding areas.

Evergreen: Yes

Grass type: A blend of Tall Fine Fescue and Kentucky Bluegrass, with 5% O'Conner's Strawberry Clover added.

Ongoing care required: Moderate

All the benefits of Canturf's popular Canberra Blend, but with even less ongoing maintenance. The inclusion of O'Conner's Strawberry Clover automatically adds nitrogen to your soil and helps to deter scarab grub.

Penturf

Climate: Cool. Ideal for Canberra, Yass, Cooma, Goulburn, Southern Highlands, and surrounding areas.

Evergreen: Yes

Grass type: A blend of 80% Fine Rye-Grass and 20% Kentucky Bluegrass

Ongoing care required: High

Penturf is a fine textured lawn. Its high quality has made it the turf of choice for applications where the highest level of presentation is essential, such as at Parliament house and on golf courses throughout Canberra and the Southern Highlands.

It requires a higher level of maintenance, so we don't usually recommend it for most residential areas. But, if you're a keen gardener looking for that extra prestigious front lawn, this may be the turf for you!

Sir Walter

Climate: Warm

Evergreen: No

Grass type: Soft Leafed Buffalo

Ongoing care required: Low to moderate

Sir Walter is a drought resistance Buffalo grass popular in many parts of Australia.

Sir Walter requires about the same amount of water as the cool climate grasses to get established, but once fully mature it generally requires less water to survive during the summer.

It does however go dormant during the cold winter months, during which the turf will discolour. The amount of discolouration will depend on the severity of the winter.

Warm Climate grasses can only be laid during the warmer months (i.e. September through to April).

'The self-repairing qualities of Sir Walter means that any damaged or over-mown patches quickly re-establish without the need for pampering.

Santa Ana Couch

Climate: Warm

Evergreen: No

Grass type: Fine leafed Couch

Ongoing care required: Low to moderate

Santa Ana is extremely hard wearing and tolerates considerable traffic. It is perfect for hot north facing situations.

Santa Ana is a medium vigour creeping perennial with above ground runners that can be maintained in a given area by bordering.

Santa Ana has a bright green leaf colour and good colour retention giving it a superior appearance. It does however go dormant during the cold winter months, during which the turf will discolour.

The amount of discolouration will depend on the severity of the winter.

Warm Climate grasses should only be laid during the warmer months (i.e. September through to April).
